Bear in mind that Sorina was the only person having a go on the Segways to fall off.

These will work out to be fairly high.
Compared to the all-inclusive group-holiday bargains athat are available.

To give you an idea of the size of this place....
My postcode is b11 2el, my work's postcode is b6 5ty. If you draw a circle with my place as the centre, and a radius of a straight line joining my place and work..... Kythira could fit in it!

Lets hope it can fit us, too!

Been chatting up all the chixx on Facebook that are from Kythira... purely for research purposes you understand.

Apparently their is NO public transport and taxis are, predictably, very expensive. The only mode of transport worth using, apart from our own legs, is hired vehicles, be it cars or scooters....

From the north tip to the south tip is a 1hour journey!

We are getting a ferry boat from pireaus to Kythira (a 7 hour trip) and they travel only twice a week so I need to be on the ball with my timing....

Should be a fab 3 weeks!

First details

I have called this blog 09/09/09 for purely aesthetic reasons. The date is not decided yet, but will be around that date.

Some things ARE decided however. Those are:
The place: Greece!
The Beach: all of them on the Island of Kythira (http://www.kythira.gr/ (if you speak Greek) or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kythera any old google search will give you all the info you could possibly desire).
The Date: (as above).
The participants: Myself, Marko, Deborah, Jason, Sorina, Shorts for sure. 90% Freeman and his missus. 75% Craig, 25% Adam. More might join in later, and indeed some might pull out.

Hello.
This blog is for the impending holiday in Greece, in late august-early september 2009. I am still in the process of organising this and details will be made available here for your easy access, and discussion.

The plan is that I post here details of the various alternatives concerning our mode of travel, departure date, length of stay, prices, hotels etc and we all post our opinions/ideas.
